About

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in 2015. There I worked in Dr. Bryan Gibbon’s lab to identify maize transcripts subject to pre-translational control based on the sequence of the 5′ untranslated region. I also worked in Dr. Bessie Kebaara’s lab, studying the determinants of the decay rate for certain mRNA transcripts in budding yeast. I moved to Madison in 2015 and started my PhD in cellular and molecular biology. Since joining the McClean lab, I’ve been interested in crosstalk between mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) networks in budding yeast.
